The short version

GIFUP is free to use, for personal and commercial work alike. What you make with it is yours; we never see it. In return, use it on material you have the right to use, and do not expect guarantees from a free tool.

What you may convert

Files you own or are licensed to use. Do not use GIFUP to process material you have no right to, and do not use it to create anything unlawful. Because conversion happens entirely on your device, we have no technical ability to see, review or block what you feed it — which makes this your responsibility rather than ours.

GIFUP does not download from YouTube, TikTok or any other platform, and adding such a feature is not planned.

No warranty

The tools are provided as they are. Conversion can fail — on an unusual codec, a corrupted file, or one too large for your browser to hold. Always keep your original. We are not liable for lost work, missed deadlines or anything else arising from using or being unable to use the site.

Availability

We try to keep the site up and the tools working, but we do not promise either. Tools may change or be replaced as browsers change.

The software underneath

Conversion is powered by FFmpeg, compiled to WebAssembly and used under its LGPL licence. We are grateful for it and claim no ownership of it.
